This class is open to anyone and serves as a fundraiser for Warriors at Ease. This class is available to those aged 16 and older and is not appropriate for those who have physical disabilities. Please be sure to bring your own mat, props (if you know you need them) and water.
This yoga class will be taught by Benef Verell who received her 200-hours Yoga Teacher Training from the Kirpalu Center for Yoga and Health in 2012. She has taught at Shaw AFB in South Carolina in 2013, at Southern Bliss Yoga in Sumter, South Carolina from 2013 to 2014, in Kuwait in 2015 and at Yokota Air Base in Japan in 2016.
Kirpalu means "being compassionate." This type of yoga focuses less on the postures and more on being present with the body and the breath. All bodies are different and this style of yoga encourages you to listen to your body and make the right choice in that moment. We can take what we learn off the mat and into our daily lives meeting challenges with our breath and learning to calm ourselves in times of stress.
